“Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.” documentary coming to Biography

A&E Network will premiere the definitive documentary “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.” on Monday, September 4 as the first project airing under the recently relaunched ‘Biography’ banner.  The three-hour, deeply personal biography will allow the late Christopher Wallace to narrate his own incredible life story by employing exclusive archival footage and audio recordings that have never been heard before as well as new interviews by those who loved him most.

The film is directed by Mark Ford and is the first biography to be authorized by his estate and will be the most personal and revealing documentary about the late Christopher Wallace that has ever been seen before.

The film will feature interviews with those closest to Biggie including his widow Faith Evans, his mother Voletta Wallace, his close friend Lil Cease and members of Junior Mafia as well as cultural icons Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Nas.

Twenty years after his death, this film and those closest to him return to the Brooklyn neighborhood at St. James and Fulton streets. His mother, Voletta,  visits a memorial mural on the side of one of the buildings in his old neighborhood and Evans returns to the old neighborhood as she recounts the early days when the couple was newlyweds.

Ultimately it's Sean "Diddy" Combs who's input followed with rare photos and interviews as well with B.I.G. himself that tell the true story of who the man was. It's BIG's life from a drug dealer at the age of 15 to rapper and up and coming artist with some of the biggest rap hits of all time.

His lyrics displayed on the screen as his music is played tell the most powerful story.

"Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G," airs September 4 on Biography.
