April 15, 2016
This article was originally posted on Examiner.Com on April 15, 2016
Academy Award nominated composer John Debney scores the new Disney movie, The Jungle. The Jungle Book is a 2016 American fantasy adventure film directed by Jon Favreau, produced by Walt Disney Pictures, and written by Justin Marks. Based on Rudyard Kipling's work, the film is a live-action/CGI re-imagining of Walt Disney's 1967 animated film of the same name. The film stars and introduces Neel Sethi as Mowgli and features the voices of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken. The film is set in the jungles of India and tells the story of Mowgli, an orphaned human boy who, guided by his animal guardians, sets out on a journey of self-discovery while escaping Shere Khan who is trying to destroy his life.

The film was released in North America on April 15, 2016. The film has received critical acclaim for its visual effects, story, and voice talent.
Debney 's score suits the movie well as the story has happy, sad, fun and dramatic moments through out the movie.

Debney received an Oscar nomination in 2004 for his score to another epic biblical drama,The Passion of the Christ. His other notable credits include Elf, Iron Man 2, The Princess Diaries and The Young Messiah. Upcoming projects include Garry Marshall’s Mother’s Day, and Spongebob Squarepants 3.

Debney seemed destined for a career in Hollywood. He began scoring Motion Picture projects as diverse as "Star Trek: The Next Generation, "A Pup Named Scooby- Doo" and "Sea Quest DSV, from which he won an Emmy for Best Main Tite. In 1993 he secured his first studio feature film, the Disney comedy HOCUS POCUS starring Bette Midler.
This weekend, the film delivered the third $100+ million opener of 2016 earning the # 1 spot. With an estimated $103.5 million opening, The Jungle Book will continue to rise for weeks as its opening numbers exceeds all expectations.

Kris Allen talks fondest memories of 'American Idol'

April 7, 2016
Trent Harmon or La’Porsha Renae will be this season's American Idol. The top two were announced last night, after it was revealed that Dalton Rapattoni received the fewest votes finishing in third.

The two-part grand finale will be filled with surprise appearances including winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, along with Jennifer Hudson, who return to the IDOL stage one last time to perform on Thursday, April 7 (8:00-10:06 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). The farewell celebration will continue, as IDOL pays tribute to the past 15 seasons.
Thursday’s final episode will have all-star performances by former IDOLs, including Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson, Nick Fradiani, Ace Young, Allison Iraheta, Amber Holcomb, Blake Lewis, Bo Bice, Brandon Rogers, Bucky Covington, Carly Smithson, Casey James, Chris Daughtry, Clark Beckham, Clay Aiken, Colton Dixon, Constantine Maroulis, Danny Gokey, Diana DeGarmo, Elliott Yamin, George Huff, James Durbin, Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Justin Guarini, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Kimberley Locke, Kree Harrison, LaToya London, Lauren Alaina, Melinda Doolittle, Pia Toscano, Sanjaya, Skylar Laine, Tamyra Gray and more, before host Ryan Seacrest announces the results of America’s votes and the final IDOL is crowned.
Kris Allen is no stranger to the Idol finale stage. He was the Season 8 winner of the show in May 2009. Allen has been nonstop releasing music and touring since his win. His latest album "Letting You In" has been released to rave reviews as he kicks off a tour to support the album release.
I spoke with Allen and asked him for a few thoughts on the farewell of "American Idol", the show that help make him a house hold name.
On the show ending :
"There's like a ton of feeling since the show is ending. It is really sad but what a celebration this season has been. A celebration of what the show has accomplished, what people who have been on the show has accomplished. To be a part of that and have a part in it is so surreal to think about. It is one of the biggest show of all time, at one time it was so huge and to have been a part of it is so crazy to me. I don't think about it. It is not that I'm trying not to think about it, it's just that it doesn't cross my mind a lot. But this season I've had to do a lot of reminiscing and that's been fun for me. Plus to be a part of assisting with auditions and supporting the contestants and being asked to take part and perform during the finale show".
Besides winning, here are some of his favorite moments from his time on the show:
"My favorite moments are getting to meet some of the people that you looked up to. People and have made the music or movies that you grew up listening or watching your whole life. The week we were at Motown, Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy showed us around. I don't know that there's too many people that can say that. That's so insane that's something that's life-changing. We were backstage with Stevie Wonder and it was his birthday and he sang "Happy Birthday' to himself. It was his version of {his song} "Happy Birthday".
"It is stuff like that or to get to talk to Quentin Tarantino or Jamie Foxx. Those just chatting with me and all that stuff you just don't imagine ever happening. It is not that I'm stars truck or that I seek out those things. They're really talented and they're really smart and they have something as an artist and creative person that you can take from, so I always try to suck up a little bit of their knowledge or whatever they have. It is very cool for that to happen in such a short amount of time".
Check back to this page for another interview with Allen where his discusses his latest release, touring and more.

Upon entering the land through the archway, Hogsmeade bustles to life with the same vitality of a quaint local village: merchants hard at work, a train conductor welcoming new arrivals and a pub packed to the gills with hungry patrons, but with the added element of enthusiastic guests intent on experiencing them all, including the land's signature ride, "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey," and the family outdoor coaster, "Flight of the Hippogriff™."
