ABC names Nick Viall as next 'The Bachelor'

For the next season of the long running ABC hit series, "The Bachelor," the show has chosen a very familiar face from "The Bachelor" franchise to be the next in line give his final rose to one lucky girl. 

Nick Viall will lead the next season of the popular show as he searches for love. 

Viewers will remember Nick Viall, who viewers will remember as the perpetual #2 guy on two "The Bachelorette" seasons with Andi Dorfman and with Kaitlin Bristowe. His reaction to Bristowe's choosing Shawn Booth over him is one of the most talked about in Bachelor history.

"The Bachelor" returns with an all new season of roses in January to ABC.

Bill Nye's new talk show coming to Netflix

Bill Nye is back, but he never went away really. Netflix is launching a new talk show with the scientific superstar called "Bill Nye Saves the World" The show is set to debut in Spring 2017. Each episode will tackle a topic from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths, and refuting anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders or titans of industry.

Viewers can expect to see special guests and unique experiments and demonstrations that are sure to cause conversations and explore further the realm of science.

"Bill Nye Saves the World" brings Nye back to television on a regular basis after his prominent guest appearances on Discovery Channel and "Celebrity Family Feud." Nye made science hip, cool and fun with his 90s Emmy award-winning syndicated television show "Bill Nye the Science Guy," which ran for five seasons. and introduced millennial audiences to science and engineering.

Not only is Nye an acclaimed scientist, he has name a quite the brand for himself as an environmental advocate, television host, and licensed mechanical engineer. He's written a number of books, his most recent, "Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation" and "Unstoppable: Harnessing Science to Change the World." 

Nye also added fashion designer to his résumé last year by partnering with Joe Boxer Founder Nick Graham for a line of bow ties. A percentage of every bow tie sold from The Bill Nye x Nick Graham collection, is donated to The Planetary Society.

'The Young and the Restless': 11,000th episode of iconic daytime show airs this week

This week "The Young and the Restless" will air its 11,000th episode on Thursday, September 1. The #1 Daytime Drama for 27 years and counting, is set in the town of Genoa City Wisconsin and centers around the lives of the Newman, Winters and Abbott families as they fight for power, financial success, love and family.

Leading up to the 11,000th episode, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) reunite in the wake of a family crisis, Neil (Kristoff St. John) revisits his troubling past, Adam (Justin Hartley) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) plan their future and Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine  (Lauralee Bell) get a pleasant surprise.

To mark the milestone, the cast dressed to the nines to pose for their annual cast photo.

Babyface, Vanilla Ice and Jana Kramer to compete on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds Vanilla Ice and Jana Kramer are the latest music artists to compete on Season 23 of "Dancing with the Stars. The full cast was announced on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, August 30th.
The show had previously announced a few celebrities which includes Olympian Laurie Hernandez, Amber Rose and retired football player Calvin Johnson.

Edmonds has been touring this summer across the USA with New Edition and various soul music festivals. He will next perform at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday, August 30th as a part of the Black Movie Soundtrack concert. He will partner with Allison Hoker.

Vanilla Ice has also been on tour this summer as part of the "I Love the 90s concert series. He will partner with Witney Carson.

Kramer has been on a tour promoting her latest album "Thirty One". She will partner with Gleb Svchenko.

The pros have been announced and includes Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, Max Chmerkovsky, Val Chmerkovskiy, Emma Slater, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, Gleb Savchenko and Allison Holker. Former troupe member Jenna Johnson will make a her debut as a pro this season.

Other celebrities on the show this season includes actress Marilu Henner, former Texas Governor Rick Perry, Indy race car driver James Hinchcliffe Olympian Ryan Lotche, actress Maureen McCorick, Jake T. Austin and Terra Jole.

The new season starts on Monday, September 12 on ABC.

Video interview: America's Got Talent: Calysta Bevier

“America’s Got Talent” has selected the Top 36 acts, which will include three Wild Cards, to compete for the $1 million grand prize. The season 11 live performance shows take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Top 36 are divided into groups of 12 to perform each week.The first 12 acts of the Top 36 took the stage to perform for America’s vote.

The first results shown had 7 acts that advanced and 5 were eliminated. Advancing to the semi finals were Laura Bretan, Musicality, Jayna Brown, Jon Dorenbos, Tape Face, Lori Mae Hernandez and Deadly Games. The five acts eliminated were Hara, Dorothy Williams, The Outlawz, Daniel Joyner and Sila Sveta.

The second week of live shows saw Calysta Bevier, Kadie Lynn, Sal Valentinetti, Steven Brundage,The Clairvoyants, Viktor Kee and Sofie Dossi advance to the semi finals. The five acts eliminated were Throwings, Ryan Stock and Amberlynn, Sos and Victoria, FlIP and Moya Angela.

The last 12 of the Top 36 acts performed on Tuesday, August 23. Advancing to the semi finals were Grace Vanderwaal, Brian Justin Crum, Edgar, Blake Vogt, Malevo, Linkin Bridge and Kaden Bart Rocket.The five acts eliminated were Alla and Daniel, Vello Vaher, Julia Sotti, The Passing Zone and Ronee Martin.

'GRIMM': Season 6 will be the last for the show

"Grimm," the long running fan favorite show about a member of the Grimm's fairy tale who fights demons in all forms, is coming to an end. 

The last 13 episodes of the sixth and final season of NBC's drama "Grimm" will begin its last chapter with the battle fans have long been waiting for - Nick versus Capt. Renard.

When the show ended last season, the Black Claw have been silenced and Nick (David Giuntoli) once again faces his ultimate foe, Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Now the mayor elect of Portland, Renard is ready to bring own brand of law and order. Nick vows to protect the city and those closest to him, especially his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). It will take the full force of Nick and his allies to find a way to bring the peace.

Meanwhile, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) grapple with bringing a child into a new and tumultuous world, and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) faces unsettling identity issues as her former self lurks below the surface. "Grimm" also stars Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee.

The series, celebrated its 100-episode last season.

Recipe: Burrito Bowl

If you can't get enough of the burrito bowls at Chipolte, El Pollo Loco or Baja Fresh, then here is a recipe for a delicious meal you can make at home.

This recipe for Mexican Black Bean Bowl only takes 15 minutes of prep time and serves 4. Check it out below:

INGREDIENTS:

2tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

2cups sliced red onion

4cups cooked 
white rice

1(15-oz.) can 
black beans

1tablespoon chopped canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

¾teaspoon kosher salt

2cups halved cherry tomatoes

¼cup fresh cilantro leaves

¼cup sour cream

lime wedges, 
for serving


DIRECTIONS:

Heat the oil in a large non­-stick skillet over medium-high. Add the onion; cook, stirring occasionally, 
until browned, 5 minutes. 
Add the rice; cook, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes. Divide the rice mixture among 4 bowls.
Drain and rinse the beans, reserving 3 tablespoons of their liquid. Add the beans, reserved liquid, chipotles, and salt to the skillet. Cook over medium-high, stirring occasionally, until warmed through, about 2 minutes. Divide the bean mixture and tomatoes among 4 bowls. Top evenly with the cilantro and sour cream. Serve with lime wedges

The first results shown had 7 acts that advanced and 5 were eliminated. Advancing to the semi finals were Laura Bretan, Musicality, Jayna Brown, Jon Dorenbos, Tape Face, Lori Mae Hernandez and Deadly Games. The five acts eliminated were Hara, Dorothy Williams, The Outlawz, Daniel Joyner and Sila Sveta.

The second week of live shows saw Calysta Bevier, Kadie Lynn, Sal Valentinetti, Steven Brundage,The Clairvoyants, Viktor Kee and Sofie Dossi advance to the semi finals. The five acts eliminated were Throwings, Ryan Stock and Amberlynn, Sos and Victoria, FlIP and Moya Angela.

The last 12 of the Top 36 acts performed on Tuesday, August 23. Advancing to the semi finals were Grace Vanderwaal, Brian Justin Crum, Edgar, Blake Vogt, Malevo, Linkin Bridge and Kaden Bart Rocket.The five acts eliminated were Alla and Daniel, Vello Vaher, Julia Sotti, The Passing Zone and Ronee Martin.

'Dancing With the Stars': Derek and Julianne Hough return for Season 23

Popular "Dancing With the Stars" pros dancers, Derek and Julianne Hough, are returning to the show for the upcoming 23rd season, E! News reports. Derek will return as a pro and Julianne will once again be holding scoring paddles as a judge.

The complete list of pros and celebrity contestants lineup will be revealed on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday.

Each of the Hough siblings are popular figures on the show with Derek winning the Mirrorball Trophies  and championship a record six times. Julianne has won a number of times as well, once with race car driving sensation Helio Castroneves. This season will mark Julianne's third season as a judge after sitting out last season. 
Both Derek and Julianne will stay busy, pulling double duty with Derek set to appear in NBC's "Hairspray Live!" this fall.

Returning pros for Season 23 are Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy, Gleb Savchenko, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Jenna Johnson, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold and Sasha Farber. 

Rumored celeb dancers are Amber Rose, Maureen McCormack, Simone Biles, Ryan Lochte, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and Jake T. Austin.
The "Dancing With the Stars" Season 23 premieres Monday, September. 12 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.

'The King and I' returns to theaters to celebrate 60th anniversary

"The King and I" will return to movie theaters for two days only, as part of Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies’ TCM Big Screen Classics series. To mark the Rodgers & Hammerstein's classical film's 60th Anniversary, “TCM Big Screen Classics: The King & I” will screen on Sunday, August 28 and Wednesday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time (both days) and includes specially-produced commentary from TCM host Ben Mankiewicz before and after the feature.

The movie is set in Siam, 1862 where British schoolteacher and recent widow Anna Leonowens (Deborah Kerr) is sent to Siam as a teacher for the royal children but immediately clashes with their father, King Mongkut (Yul Brynner). Her modern, Western ways don't sit well with the ruler – but over time, he slowly gains respect for her willingness to stand up to him.

The film version by Twentieth Century Fox was the winner of five Academy Awards® (Best Actor for Yul Brynner, Best Musical Score, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction & Set Decoration and Best Sound) and was nominated for four more (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Cinematography).

Britney Spears joins James Corden for Carpool Karaoke (Video)

Oops, James Corden did it again. He invited another music superstar to ride share for anouther edition of his popular carpool Karaoke segments. This time the host of "The Late Late Show with James Corden" sang with Britney Spears.

The two drove around Los Angeles and Beverly Hills singing some of the pop star's hits including "Toxic," Oops!--- I Did It Again," and "Baby One More Time."

Spike's hit show  "Lip Sync Battle" is going live for the first time ever. The ratings phenomenon of celebrities lip syncing to the hit songs will have a live taping on Sunday, September 11 at 8:00 p.m. 

An all-star line up of battling alums will perform, including John Legend, Olivia Munn, Terry Crews and more. "

Lip Sync Battle: All-Stars LIVE" will be a one-hour special highlighting some of the show's most popular and memorable past performers who will return for another chance at glory and the much sought after Lip Sync Battle championship belt. The winners will be decided by fans voting at home.
LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen host the series which premieres Wednesday, October 12 at 9:00 p.m.
