'A Chance in the World'; one night movie event premieres May 30

Moviegoers nationwide will have the unique opportunity to experience former foster child Steve Pemberton's inspirational true story when "A Chance in the World," distributed by Great North Releasing Corp., makes its world premiere in over 600 U.S. movie theaters for a one-night event on May 30, 2018 via Fathom Events. The premiere, which is a celebration of National Foster Care Month, is intended to be a call to action for audience members to become aware of the issues facing foster children and orphans – and also inspire a humanitarian movement towards protecting children and improving their lives.

Following the feature content, a panel discussion (featuring Steve Pemberton, representatives from the Adoption Exchange, Love Without Boundaries and Felix Organization's Darryl DMC McDaniels) will explore how audience members can help foster children and orphans. The discussion will be broadcast from the Paley Center in New York City via satellite to all participating theaters. All proceeds from the Paley Center screening will be donated to charity.

Written and directed by Mark Vadik, "A Chance in the World" is the true story of a wounded boy who overcomes a broken and abusive foster care system to become a man of resilience and vision. It features Terrell Ransom Jr., Nick Turturro, Tom Sizemore, Cynda Williams, Fred Williamson and Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs.

"Obviously, we hope that audiences like the film," says Vadik. "But more importantly, we hope that it inspires audience members to do something to help these kids. To get involved, to donate time or resources… to give these kids their chance in the world."

Tickets for "A Chance in the World" can be purchased at www.FathomEvents.com or participating theater box offices. Tickets for the Paley Center event can be purchased at www.Eventbrite.com.

The filmmakers have permanently dedicated a page on the movie's official website at www.achanceintheworldmovie.com to act as an index of resources for people who would like to better understand how they can help foster children and orphans.

'Hair Live!' headed to NBC

May 26, 2018
Following on the heels of NBC's critically acclaimed rock musical "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert" comes the true original rock musical, "Hair Live!," which will be broadcast in the spring of 2019 in front of a live audience. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will return to NBC as the live event executive producers.

Fifty years ago "Hair" burst onto Broadway in the midst of the anti-Vietnam War movement and was groundbreaking in many ways. Since then, its integrated cast, message of protest and peace, and certified-platinum "rock" score have become iconic. With music by Galt MacDermot and book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, "Hair" has a string of hits that have been played all over the globe, including "(The Age of) Aquarius," "Let the Sun Shine In," Good Morning Starshine," (all #1 hits in 1969), "Hair," "Manchester, England," "Frank Mills" and more.

"I'm overjoyed that James Rado and Galt MacDermot are trusting us with their masterpiece 'Hair,' one of the most original shows ever conceived for Broadway with one of the greatest scores," said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. "These songs are part of the vocabulary of popular music, and this rebellious story of young people protesting and standing up for what they believe in is as relevant today as it was 50 years ago. This will be the perfect live event, and I'm looking forward to seeing Craig and Neil, along with our partners at MGM and the original creators bring the audience to their feet as they experience these beloved songs and recognizable young characters."

"When we both, individually, saw 'Hair' on Broadway, we were knocked out by how musical theater could be stretched into something so daring, immersive and audacious," said Zadan and Meron. "Its recent Broadway revival showed how timeless the show is and that it's relevant to any era. 'Hair' is filled with heartfelt emotion, joy and thrilling music and it really will be the new dawning of the Age of Aquarius."

"We are thrilled to continue to work with Bob Greenblatt, NBC and now with Neil and Craig, who are the two absolute geniuses in the musical theater space," said Mark Burnett, President, MGM Television Group. "'Hair' has become such an iconic film in our culture, and now on its 50th anniversary it's the ideal time to perform it live on television."

In 2008, Time magazine said the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of "Hair" was "more daring than ever." The New York Times wrote: "Thrilling! This emotionally rich revival of the American Tribal Love-Rock Musical delivers the intense, unadulterated joy and anguish of that bi-polar state called youth. And any theatregoer with a pulse will find it hard to resist their invitation."

"Hair Live!" tells the story of a group of politically active hippies living a bohemian life in New York while fighting against and resisting the Vietnam War. Claude, his good friends Berger and Sheila, and their "tribe" are coming of age in the world of the sexual revolution while struggling with their rebellion against the war and their conservative parents and society. Claude must decide whether to resist the draft as his friends have done, or succumb to the pressures of conservative America to serve in Vietnam, compromising his principles and beliefs.

After an off-Broadway debut on Oct. 17, 1967, as the inaugural production of Joseph Papp's now-legendary Public Theater, the show opened on Broadway in April 1968 and ran for 1,750 performances. "Hair" quickly became not just a smash-hit show, but a genuine cultural phenomenon that spawned a monster cast album and a #1 song on the pop charts for the Fifth Dimension. Simultaneous productions in cities across the United States and Europe followed, including a successful London production that ran for 1,997 performances.

Numerous productions of the show have been staged around the world, spawning dozens of recordings of the musical, including the 3 million-selling original Broadway cast recording. Some of the songs from its score became Top 10 hits, and a feature film adaptation was released in 1979, directed by two-time Oscar winner Milos Forman and choreographed by Twyla Tharp. A Broadway revival directed by Diane Paulus opened in 2008 at the Delacorte Theatre as part of the Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park and then moved to Broadway in 2009, earning strong reviews and winning the Tony and Drama Desk Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

"Hair Live!" will be produced by Universal Television, MGM Television, and Zadan/Meron Productions.

Live Action 'Kim Possible' Disney Channel Movie cast announced

Alyson Hannigan ("How I Met Your Mother") and Connie Ray ("The Big C") join the cast of "Kim Possible," the live-action Disney Channel Original Movie based on the global hit animated series about an everyday high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from villains. Hannigan will play the role of brain surgeon Dr. Ann Possible (aka Mom Possible) and Ray will play grandmother Nana Possible.

Also joining the cast are Todd Stashwick ("12 Monkeys") and Taylor Ortega who will play fan-favorite villains Drakken and Shego, respectively; Ciara Wilson ("OMG!") has been cast as new high school student Athena; and Erika Tham ("Make It Pop") will play Kim's childhood frenemy, Bonnie.

They join the previously announced leads, Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible and Sean Giambrone as Ron Stoppable, in the comedy-adventure set to debut in 2019.

Hannigan can also be heard as the voice of Fancy Nancy's mom, Claire Clancy, in Disney Junior's upcoming animated series "Fancy Nancy," based on the New York Times bestselling books.

The writers of the "Kim Possible" live-action movie are the creators of the animated series, Emmy(R) Award-winning Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley ("Big Hero 6 The Series," "The Penguins of Madagascar"), and Josh Cagan ("The DUFF," "Bandslam"). The executive producers are McCorkle, Schooley and Zanne Devine, whose producing credits include "I, Tonya" and "Easy A." The movie will be co-directed and co-produced by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky (both of Disney XD's "MECH-X4"). Blyth Nailling (ABC's "Last Man Standing" and "Scrubs") is the casting director.

The animated comedy-adventure series launched in 2002 and centered on a strong teenager who uses her brain, heart and expertise to save the day. Throughout 87 episodes, Kim Possible traversed the social hierarchy of high school and, with her loyal sidekick Ron Stoppable and his naked mole-rat Rufus by her side, thwarted power-hungry villains Drakken and Shego, among others. It inspired two popular animated original movies, "Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama" in 2005, which was the first animated title in the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, and "Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time" in 2003.

Viewers' connection to "Kim Possible" also led to an off-TV franchise, including Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable characters at Disney Parks & Resorts and a line of "Kim Possible" branded consumer products at mass retail, soundtracks, books and games.

Good Charlotte announce 'Generation Rx' album and European Tour Dates

Good Charlotte will release their anxiously awaited album, Generation Rx, on September 14, 2018. It marks the first record to be released under the newly minted global partnership between the band's MDDN label and BMG. The album's lead single "Actual Pain" is available to stream and download now HERE

Generation Rx represents both a new chapter and full circle moment for the group-brothers Joel [vocals] and Benji Madden [guitar, vocals], Billy Martin [guitar], Paul Thomas [bass], and Dean Butterworth [drums]. Powered by punk spirit, rock songcraft, and cinematic ambition, they retain the signature vitality and vulnerability of their formative years, while delivering an urgent, unafraid, and undeniable message befitting of two decades in the game.

The quintet craft intricate, yet infectious anthems of hope for a generation under the shadow of the Opioid epidemic, icons gone too soon, mass tragedy, loneliness, and confusion. Produced by Zakk Cervini and Benji during intimate sessions at MDDN headquarters, the record finds GOOD CHARLOTTE doing what they do best-speaking directly to the youth.

"At the beginning of the year, we were reflecting a lot," said Joel and Benji. "We just played a memorial service in honor of Lil Peep. We were thinking of that. Our generation was the first to have so many ways to deal with pain. Throughout this century, we've seen the whole opioid crisis get worse. We wondered if we were really doing our part. We wanted to bet back out there on the battlefield and spread insight, share experience, and give anything we could to improve lives. The message is you can get through the pain, survive it, and have the life you want. We made the record on our own terms and our own time. In that respect, we channeled the soul of our first two albums. This is the album we've been waiting 15 years to create."

Lead single "Actual Pain" makes good on that promise. Sweeping strings underscore a wall of distortion as a hypnotic hook cuts deep. Raw and relatable, it's the perfect introduction to Generation Rx.

Good Charlotte will return to the road in Europe and The UK for a massive tour kicking off February 1, 2019. A special fan club pre-sale goes live May 29 HERE

'Solo: A Star Wars Story': Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Available May 25th

Acclaimed composer John Powell marks his first-ever feature collaboration score with Lucasfilm for "Solo: A Star Wars Story." Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, the score features a 125-piece orchestra and choir conducted by Gavin Greenaway. Powell composed and produced the score including several new themes written by Powell including "Chewie Theme," "Love Theme," "Ensys Nest Theme," "Gang Theme" and "L3 Theme," as well as adapting the new Han Solo theme and some of the original Star Wars music by John Williams.

Most recently, Powell scored "Ferdinand," as well as the "How to Train Your Dragon," "Bourne" and "Ice Age" films.

"The Adventures of Han" theme was composed and conducted by John Williams. This new theme for Han Solo was recorded by the Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angeles at the Newman Scoring Stage. Williams has written the complete scores for all eight of the Star Wars saga films, beginning with 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope for which he earned an Academy Award for Best Original Score. Most recently his score for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was nominated for an Oscar.

Describing his approach to the Solo: A Star Wars Story score, Powell says, "There is a language that John Williams uses in the Star Wars films, and I've tried to live up to the quality of what he has done before by keeping form and structure within the score and following the storytelling as honestly and elegantly as possible."

He adds, "There is a lot of thematic material from the original movies that I used that are not specific to Han. They're specific to the Millennium Falcon, TIE fighters and the Empire. Those types of things are very useful as they're all part of the language we know. There are lots of other characters and ideas within the film that I wrote tunes and melodies (themes) for, so it's a mixture of new themes by me, a new theme by John Williams, and some of the old material."

Solo: A Star Wars Story Original Motion Picture soundtrack will be available wherever music is sold and streamed on May 25. The digital soundtrack can be streamed HERE and downloaded HERE. The CD is now available for pre-order.

Brynn Cartelli was crowned champion of “The Voice” tonight. The 15-year old music and high school student from Longmeadow, Mass.
The soulful pop artist is the youngest winner ever in the history of NBC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series.

Cartelli faced tough competition from the other Top 4 finalists — Spensha Baker and Kyla Jade from Team Blake, and Britton Buchanan from Team Alicia.

Season 14 of “The Voice” concluded at Universal Studios, Calif., with a star-studded live finale featuring performances by superstar recording artists Jason Aldean, James Bay, Florence + The Machine, Halsey feat. Big Sean, Dua Lipa and Season 13 winner Chloe Kohanski. Additionally, the finale featured special musical collaborations with the Top 4 artists and chart-topping singers, including Season 15 coach Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Adams, Kane Brown and Julia Michaels.

In her Blind Audition, Cartelli sang “Beneath Your Beautiful” by Labrinth feat. Emili Sande, earning her a chair turn from both Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. After both coaches fought to work with this young talent, Cartelli ultimately chose first-time coach Clarkson. Her performance of Sia’s “Unstoppable” in the Live Playoffs earned Cartelli a spot in the Top 12 though America’s votes. Her ability to cross genres with songs such as Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain,” Lady Gaga’s “You and I” and Coldplay’s “Fix You” brought Cartelli all the way to the Semi-Finals, where a moving performance of Jackie DeShannon’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love” sealed the deal and sent her all the way to the Finals.

After winning the show, Cartelli and Clarkson meet with the press for conference to discuss her win.
