CBS offers 'God Friended Me' Advance Preivew

CBS will offer special advance digital access to the premiere episode of the new series "God Friended Me" across the CBS app, CBS All Access, CBS.com, Facebook Premieres, Twitter, Instagram's IGTV and multiple EST platforms (including iTunes, Vudu, Google and Sony) beginning at 2:00 PM, ET/11:00 AM, PT on Friday, August 31 ahead of its broadcast premiere on Sunday, Sept. 30 (8:30-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

"This is a show that deserves advance exposure. Once people see "God Friended Me," they respond to its positive and life-affirming values," said George Schweitzer, President, CBS Marketing Group. "Our marketing strategy is to get it previewed a full month early - free and uninterrupted - so viewers can sample it for themselves and help spread the word to friends and family before the broadcast premiere."

"God Friended Me" is a humorous, uplifting drama about Miles Finer, an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from "God" and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him. The series stars Brandon Micheal Hall as Miles, along with Violett Beane, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie and Joe Morton.

"God Friended Me" is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. The series was created by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt and is executive produced by Lilien, Wynbrandt, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Marcos Siega.

The 13th season of the summertime edition of "America's Got Talentepisode 13 aired on Tuesday, August 28. The episode showed judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Howie Mandel and host Tyra Banks judging various talent acts trying to advance to the semi finals.

The search is open to acts of all ages, showcasing unique performers from around the world. The series is a true celebration of creativity and talent, featuring singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, magicians, ventriloquists and hopeful stars, all vying to win America's hearts and $1 million.

Last summer "America's Got Talent" averaged a 3.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 16.0 million viewers overall in "live plus seven day" averages for original Tuesday telecasts, according to Nielsen Media Research. That made it "Talent's" most-watched season ever in its 12th year. It was the #1 summer show in both measures and provided a strong lead-in to the #2 show of the summer, NBC's "World of Dance."

The Top 6 dancers performed and at the end of the show the Top 4 was announced to compete in the finale for America’s votes and the title of America’s Favorite Dancer.

'Dancing with the Stars' judge Carrie Ann Inaba to host The 2019 Miss America Competition

Carrie Ann Inaba will host “The 2019 Miss America Competition.”  Joining Inaba as co-host for the evening is television personality Ross Mathews when the competition airs live on ABC from Atlantic City’s Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, September 9 at 9:00 p.m. EDT). 

Inaba, a judge on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” hosts this year’s historic competition where 51 women from around the country will take center stage competing for the job and scholarship dollars that come with the crown of Miss America 2019. Mathews will join Inaba and anchor reports throughout the evening from backstage, sharing all of the glitz, glam and candidate activities, while also providing commentary and updates from the arena floor and a skybox position at Boardwalk Hall. 

“I am honored to be invited to host ‘The 2019 Miss America Competition,’” said Inaba. “I choreographed the Miss America Competition for years and am thrilled to be this year’s host.  I’m humbled to have the chance to be part of an evening that will give young women the opportunity to further their education and crown a new Miss America.  I have always been a fan of the Miss America Organization that consistently encourages women to be strong, intelligent and radiant women in the world,” she added.  

“Since I’ll never get to compete for the Miss America crown, this is the next best thing,” said Mathews. “I feel like a lucky fan who won a golden ticket and gets to stand on stage alongside the gorgeous Carrie Ann Inaba and 51 incredible women knowing that one will be officially crowned the new Miss America. It’s a dream to be asked and I am beyond excited to get to Atlantic City. Who knows? Maybe the winner will even let me try on the crown!”
